ABRC will once again share education resources at the Science Education Council of Ohio's (SECO) annual symposium. SECO's 2018 Science Symposium will take place on January 29th and 30th at the Nationwide Hotel and Conference Center in Columbus, Ohio. ABRC will have a booth showcasing our many education resources in the exhibit hall. Staff will be on hand to give away resources, answer questions, and demonstrate how educators can incorporate Arabidopsis into their science curriculum. In addition, ABRC staff will facilitate two sessions during the symposium. Attendees can look forward to gaining hands on experience working with plants while learning new ways to teach Mendelian genetics in the session titled Play Mendel: Demonstrating Mendelian genetics with Arabidopsis plants. Our second session will explore the role of hormones in development and the effect of mutations on the phenotype of an organism in the session titled Life in Bloom: Exploring the role of hormones in seed germination.
