Hypersensitive to NaCl, KCl, and LiCl but not to CsCl stress; in response to salt stress, the root tips of plants swell and root elongation is arrested, root tips have abnormal cell expansion, thinner walls, and reduced middle lamella; under normal growth conditions, the rate of growth and development of plants is similar to that of wild type plants but with shorter siliques and fewer seeds per silique; glabra phenotype: lacks trichomes on leaves and stems.
