Phenotype is identical to CS6217. Elongated hypocotyl under white or red light. Leaf petiole somewhat elongated but shorter than the pure phyB-9 single mutant (CS71625). Smaller leaf blade, paler leaf color, and lower chlorophyll content than CS71625. Combination of pale yellowish interveinal tissue and green vascular associated tissue, resulting in a reticulate phenotype. Interveinal mesophyll cells contain abnormally small chloroplasts. Inefficient photosystem II quantum yield.
