phyB-9 single mutant. CS6217 was initially outcrossed to Col-6 (CS8155), putative phyB-9 single mutant plants were selected from the F2 population based on hypocotyl length and leaf color, and were then further crossed to Col-0 as the second backcross to obtain the purified phyB-9 segregant, single mutant line.

Elongated hypocotyl under white or red light. Elongated leaf petiole and smaller leaf blade. Slightly lighter leaf color and slightly lower chlorophyll content than wild type Col-0 plants. Photosystem II quantum yield is not affected under standard growth conditions.
