Isolated from the seeds of a population of activation-tagged lines in a screen for mutants with increased arsenic tolerance. T-DNA insertion at AT1G09570 (ars4) and 1.4 kb deletion encompassing part of the promoter and the entire first exon of At5g42790 (ars5); ars5 mutagen was a T-DNA insertion, but the insertion is no longer present.
