Seedling roots show modest radial swelling (mainly as a result of ballooning of trichoblasts) and reduced elongation, enhanced at elevated temperatures (30C); dark grown hypocotyls show reduced elongation and modest radial swelling at 20C, but enhanced at 30C; plants show modest reduction in bolt height; some reduction in cellulose; phenotype rescued by exogenous uridine suggesting supply of pyrimidine-based sugar-nucleotide compounds is limiting.
