Confirmed line isolated from original SALK line; homozygous for the insertion; genomic PCR analyses confirmed that a single T-DNA resides within intron 11; sequence analyses of both border fragments located the T-DNA insertion at position 1792 without any base deletion; intron 11 fails to splice due to insertion of a T-DNA copy; lacks N-acetyl-glucosaminyltransferase-I activity and is unable to form complex N-glycans in the Golgi apparatus; fails to react with complex glycan antiserum on immunoblots ("non-stainer" ).
