Seedlings have long hypocotyls, long petioles, small epinastic cotyledons and leaves, short and highly branched roots, and dense root hairs. Adult plants have narrow and twisted leaves, apically dominant inflorescences, zigzag pattern of short siliques on the inflorescence stalks, and poor fertility. In several ways, the seedling and adult phenotypes resemble mutants that overproduce auxin.
