Description:
Isolated from a population of plants mutagenized by Agrobacterium-mediated transformation of plants with the T-DNA binary vector pAC102 in a screen for mutants impaired in transcriptional gene silencing. Heterozygous met1-3 mutant plants can be identified by PCR genotyping using gene-specific primers (METNF2; TAG CCA ACA AGT TAT CGC TTA CTC and METNR2; TTC GCA AAC CAT TCT TCA CAG AGC) and T-DNA primer (TL-4; TAA TTG CGT CGA ATC TCA GCA TCG). Wild-type allele (METNF2/METNR2) is 600 bp. The met1-3 allele is 1 kb using (METNF2/TL-4) or 700 bp using (METNR2/TL-4)
