Description:
CRISPR/Cas9 generated knockout of EcCYP71B132, a cytochrome P450 that was identified as a candidate for cardenolide biosynthesis based on expression, but the knockout mutant has no cardenolide-related phenotype. One bp deletion in coding sequence of CYP71B132 (Erche08g004170) does not alter cardenolide profile. No obvious visual phenotype or special growth requirements. Other metabolome-related phenotypes are possible but have not been investigated.
