Description:
35S::ERF1-1, transgenic line constitutively overexpresses ERF1 (ETHYLENE RESPONSE FACTOR1) in coi1 (coronatine insensitive1) background, under the control of the CaMV 35S promoter; encodes a transcription factor that regulates the expression of pathogen response genes that prevent disease progression, playing a key role in the integration of signaling pathways to activate ethylene and jasmonate-dependent responses to pathogens; insensitive to jasmonate as coi1 with respect to root growth and anthocyanin accumulation; 35S:ERF1 can rescue the defense response defects of coi1; smaller rosettes compared to coi1 mutant plants; rosette leaves are narrow-elongated and somewhat dark-green color; glabrous plants (gl1), lacking trichomes on leaves and stems; completely male sterile plants, maintained as heterozygote; kanamycin resistant.
