Description:
Isolated from a population of EMS-mutagenized seeds in a screen for mutants with root growth inhibition.
Growth Requirement: add 250 uM GSH (glutathione) or gamma-GC (gamma-Glutamylcysteine) to growth medium. (250 uM of compound must be continuously present to allow continued root growth of homozygous rml1 mutants.) Best to maintain as heterozygote.

ABRC Comment: rml1-1 and rml1-2 were determined to be the same allele, and is now referred to as rml1. Heterozygous rml1 mutants can be identified by PCR genotyping using the following primers: CS68138 dCAPS F (5' CTT GCA ATC TTG ACA GGT TAA TCT A -3''); CS68138 dCAPS R (5'- GGG ATC ATA ACA ACT GAA TCT AGA -3'). The PCR product is 273 bp. After restriction digestion with XbaI restriction enzyme, mutant band will be cut (250 +23 bp). Wildtype band will be cut (228 bp + 22 bp + 23 bp).
