Description:

toc1-101 mutant initially identified as line 21329 in a screen of activation tagged lines (Weigel et al. 2000) in the Columbia ecotype, by virtue of its long hypocotyl in R light. The mutant was found to be unlinked to the BASTA resistance marker. Contains a 16-bp deletion 1068 bases after the ATG of TOC1, in the fourth exon of the reading frame, resulting in a frameshift of the predicted protein after this point, and early termination after 188 aa. Backcrossed twice to Col. No individuals from the F2 generation were BASTA resistant, indicating no full T-DNA insertion exists in this mutant.
