Description:

set of 18 near-isogenic lines (NILs) generated by introgressing genomic regions, corresponding to chromosome 5, from the Cape Verde Islands (Cvi-1 = CS717135) accession into the Landsberg erecta (Ler-0 = CS717136) genetic background. NILs were produced by selecting appropriate Ler/Cvi recombinant inbred lines (RILs) and repeatedly backcrossing these with Ler as recurrent female parent. The progeny of backcrosses was genotyped and lines containing a homozygous Cvi introgression into Ler were selected. The set of selected lines was extensively genotyped by AFLP using the same restriction enzymes and primer combinations as those used for the genotyping of the original RILs (Keurentjes J. et al. Genetics 175: 891-905, 2007). All lines were advanced to the F13 generation. Files with marker data are available.
