transposon T-DNA line: carries a single copy transposon T-DNA (Ds-GUS T-DNA); the transposon is derived from McClintock's maize Activator (Ac) transposable element; utilizes a beta-glucuronidase (GUS) gene in a promoter/enhancer trap construct; bacterial aph4 gene (hygromycin resistance) is included as a selectable marker; the transposon is inserted in an herbicide-resistant acetolactate synthase gene, whose function is restored when the transposon excises; map location - chrom. 1, above mi372; donated seeds were the R3 generation from a single, homozygous, self-pollinated R2 plant; please consult the Plant Transposon Lab web site for a map of the Ds-GUS T-DNA insertions, information on the use of these stocks and results from transposition experiments; to be crossed to Ac stocks CS8533-CS8538 to induce transposition.
