Description:
This recombinant doubled haploid (DH) line was produced via centromere-mediated genome elimination. The two parents, Sq-8 and NFA-8, were crossed in one direction to generate the F1. The F1 was used as the male parent in a cross to the transgenic haploid inducer line with the cenh3-1 GFP-tailswap (CS66982) genotype. Haploid progeny from this cross were selected phenotypically. Although haploid plants are generally sterile, diploid seed is produced at a low frequency. Plants grown from this fertile diploid seed constituted the first doubled haploid generation. Donated seeds are from a single generation of selfing of the first DH generation. Distribution stock bulked once at ABRC.
