Description:
Arabidopsis halleri Langelsheim, derived from a cross between two Langelsheim (Ernst, 1974) accessions, Lan 3-1 and Lan 5; note that Arabidopsis halleri has been described to be self-incompatible (Laurens et.al., 2008, Molecular Ecology).
Growth Requirement: at least one week cold treatment after planting is suggested for optimal germination.

stoloniferous perennial plants; large rosettes with numerous leaves; petioles are 1-5 cm long; rosette leaf blades are orbicular or broadly ovate, 1-9 cm long and 0.5-2.5 cm wide, marginally pinnatifid or lyrate-pinnatifid, often with an orbicular (circular) terminal lobe; stems are decumbent, simple or branched above; self-compatible; siliques are linear, flattened, torulose, 0.9-2.5 cm long, 0.6-1 cm wide; fruits strongly flattened; petals 4-5-10 mm long; long seeds and usually flattened; cotyledons accumbent; replum constricted between seed. Exhibits naturally selected Zn and Cd hypertolerance and accumulates extraordinarily high Zn concentrations in its leaves.
