Description:
Double mutant generated by crossing the double mutant between hy4-1 and cry2 (also known as fha-1) in Ler to hy1-1. Double mutant combination was recovered in the progeny by a combination of phenotypic and PCR assays.
Growth Requirement: Somewhat spindly and weak seedling, benefits from early growth under a lid cover. Because the deficiency in phytochrome chromophore in hy1 recovers with age to some extent, the plants grow to a considerable size and set seed without problem.
